Umbrella Action Day Against Climate Change

Copy of a Friends of the Earth Email I have received. Sounds like a fun gig, if you’re in Dublin, do try and drop in!

3pm, this Sunday, 10th June, Martello Tower, Sandymount Strand, Dublin.

Do you care about climate change?
Does it matter to you that Ireland releases more climate-polluting greenhouse-gases per person than almost any other nation on earth?

Stop Climate Chaos, the umbrella group of Irish aid, environment, faith and youth agencies, believes the answer is yes! We’re planning a fun family day out on Sunday. Bring the kids, a picnic, even the dog. You can do a biodiversity survey on the beach, watch some balloon blowing, sign our petition and have your face painted. Above all show the government you want Ireland to do its fair share to pr event climate chaos.

Choreographer Muirne Bloomer and some dancers will lead the crowd in an umbrella demonstration to the strains of the Beach Boys’ “Wouldn’t it be nice.” And it would be nice if the new government took firm action to reduce emissions, wouldn’t it? It won’t happen unless the people send them a message. This is your chance.

Bring your brolly!

Yours sincerely,

Oisin Coghlan
