When I was very young, there was a play-ground myth going around about how God had organised for Ireland to be flooded three days before the end of the world. Apparently, so the story went, this was because we were so holy and loyal. It was to save us the pain and suffering of the real end of the world. Thanks God, thanks a bunch.
Now, let me tell you. Ireland is now flooding. It has been raining constantly for three days now and it is getting deeper and deeper. I reckon that by Saturday lunchtime we’ll be six feet under. You’ve been warned.
This lake in Chile disappeared. They wonder where it is. Wonder no more: it landed in Ireland, yesterday!
